Rick Bulich from Gypsy Guide by GPS Tours of Canada joins Craig to discuss a new technology that gives you your own professional tour guide in the comfort of your own vehicle.
Gypsy Guide is a tour guide that a visitor can attach to the windshield of the vehicle they are driving. It uses Positioning Satellite technology to AUTOMATICALLY activate commentary to play as they drive. Unlike old technology using tapes or CDs, the device always knows where it is, it turns itself on just as something of interest comes into view. The visitor simply drives and enjoys the stories and advice on what to do from the Gypsy Guide as it plays through the stereo.
The idea was to provide independent travelers with a guided tour experience that they could do on their own schedule, in their own vehicle. All of the content is prepared and presented by real, human tour guides from the area. Gypsy Guide is filled with interesting stories and tales, suggestions on how best to spend your time and make sure that you don’t miss a thing. It can even help visitors find wildlife by pointing out areas where animal activity is more frequent.
