Some of the Points Rick and Craig Discussed

The world of pleasure boating just got better, with revolutionary Axius® and Zeus® joystick control transforming maneuvering and docking into simple, easy and stress-free actions. Joystick control is available on all Sea Ray twin engine models. Just push the joystick in the desired direction and you’re there!

Axius and Zeus alleviate the intimidation of maneuvering boats that has for too long limited the number of people willing to step behind a helm. The Axuis and Zeus systems remove that intimidation and make it simple for novice boaters to smoothly, safely and confidently dock their boat.

By switching from the wheel to the accompanying joystick control, anyone using boats powered by Axius and Zeus can easily move it laterally, diagonally, or even pivot in a circle just by pushing or turning the joystick in the desired direction.

Both systems work through a joystick – much like a video game controller – that controls the drive-by-wire steering, throttling and shifting in an intuitive manner. Simple hand movements are translated into complex boat maneuvers that were previously impossible – even to experienced captains.

This revolution in recreational boating is the culmination of 15 years of research, design and testing by Sea Ray, Mercury Marine and Cummins MerCruiser Diesel engineers.

The Axius control system consists of twin sterndrive packages and offers standard joystick capability. The Zeus propulsion system consists of two to four engine/pod units that can turn 360 degrees, powering vessels from the 40-foot range up to much larger yachts.
