Seasoning the Grill

To have the PERFECT Bar-b-Que it is essential to prepare the grill by fully seasoning it before you plan on grilling. By following these simple steps you will have a simply "Mah-vel-ous" grilling experience. For simplicity sake I assume that you are working with a propane gas grill. However, although it is a more time consuming and expensive endeavor, it can be done to prepare a charcoal grill.

Step one: Make sure that your Grill is clean.

Step two:

Take a towel with enough oil to wet it slightly. Then add 1 teaspoon of sea salt into the oil that is on the towel, and then begin to lightly rub the grill. This is necessary to allow the oil, and the salt to attach to the grill surface once it gets heated. This will in effect create a non-stick, lightly flavored surface on which to grill.

Step Three: Now it is time to light the grill and it up to temperature. Take another towel and coat it with oil.
When the grill is up to temperature coat the grill once more with the second saltless oiled towel. The heat has bonded the salt to the grill and this second coat will shield allowing those wonderful brown searing marks to be evident on whatever meat, fish or vegetable that you grill.

Having a grill that is well seasoned will provide you with a grill surface that will keep any food from sticking and allow for easy and effortless clean up.

Now that you know the secret you effortless grilling let the Gourmet hit the grill but you can tell everyone it was great undertaking and after dinner you will need a beer and some TV to recuperate from all the hard work.
